| More Freedom and Less Government |
I believe the American people deserve more freedom and less government. Yet, as long as we've had a free nation, we've had those people with a vision of how to spend your money better than you do. And these people are absolutely certain that they know exactly how to shape a future that you and your children are going to enjoy.
I believe in the Ronald Reagan adage that it is not the function of government to bestow happiness upon us, rather it is the function of government to give the American people the opportunity to work out happiness for themselves. I will, therefore, continue to pursue legislation to provide more freedom to American families and communities by returning power, money and authority back to them. With every tax cut that we pass and with every dollar that we return to the local level, we give back more control to those from whom it was taken: the American people. |
